Basrah University's Ph.D. thesis: On Removing Harmful Dyes from Aqueous Solutions

College of Science, University of Basrah discussed Ph.D. thesis on removal of water from some toxic dyes by using a number of hydrogel compounds prepared via using acrylamide by the postgraduate student, Mrs. Hoda Salem Khudair. The thesis aimed at preparing hydrogel polymers derived from acryl amide and diagnosing and evaluating these polymers via different techniques such as FTIR, Zeta-Potential, BET, FESEM and others, as well as applying the meal system in the study of the adsorption of four dangerous and toxic dyes. The thesis demonstrated a detailed analytical study of water treatment systems from some toxic dyes and the danger to the environment and the isothermic studies, kinetic and thermodynamic studies reviewed that the prepared gel polymers had excellent efficiency in removing dyes from their aqueous solutions. The thesis concluded that the ability of gel polymers prepared from acryl amide to adsorb four dyes that are toxic and hazardous to the aquatic environment, as well as the possibility of reusing both polymers and dyes for four cycles with high efficiency
